“Heavenly Fireworks?”

"Pastor’s Comment - “Heavenly Fireworks?”

Don’t we all just love fireworks! They light up the sky with beautiful colors and the sounds of ooo’s and aaa’s can be heard everywhere. An abundant amount of money, time and effort is spent in making the 4th of July fireworks, when we celebrate our freedom from the Kingdom of Great Britain and the beginning of our great country, the best ever. Yes, this is a great freedom, but it cannot compare to the abundant freedom we have been given in Christ. Through His death, burial and resurrection from the dead, we have been set free from our bondage of sin and are given eternal life with Him. “I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent." ( Luke 15:7) Wow! The celebration in heaven must be great! I’ll bet that if there are fireworks in heaven, they are truly the best! And, just think what they must be when you add God’s people living in repentance and faith? This 4th of July as we celebrate the birthday of our great country, let us remember to thank God, our Father, for our great earthly home and for our glorious heavenly home. And, enjoy the fireworks!"
