Blessing of the Greens

"Blessing of the Greens"
Historic Trinity begins the Christmas season with the 'Blessing of the Greens' ceremony. 'Bless, oh Lord, these branches and all our festive decoration.' On Sunday, November 7, 2010, all individuals attending the worship services will participate in the 'Blessing of the Greens', and will receive a holiday decoration made by Barbara Asmus to use in their home decorations. The Historic Trinity Cathedral Choir will sing 'The Colors of Christmas', a beautiful Christmas Carol composed by Karl Osterland, which explores the meaning of the colors associated with Christmas.

This week, members and friends of Historic Trinity will decorate the church and Otte Hall for 'Christmas at Historic Trinity'. It is anticipated that over 15,000 persons will see the decorations at Historic Trinity between Thanksgiving and the Epiphany."
